Giving young people mentoring opportunities in the arts

SWERVE – Dance and Physical Theatre for the Courthouse Youth Arts Centre, Geelong.   SWERVE was sponsored by Go For Your Life!, BATFORCE and SFYS of the Barwon Region to offer dance + physical theatre skills to young people in the Geelong region during 2006 and 2007. The program worked on outreach in schools and ran a company of young people who gathered to make new dance theatre informed by drama, multimedia, song writing, hiphop, contemporary and cultural dance.

SWERVE DanceTheatre Crew created Sectr B – an hour long show which fostered emerging artists skills along side professional artists and secondary school students.
